Vinitaly 2025 oltre le sfide globali.

The 57th edition of Vinitaly, the International Wine and Spirits Exhibition held in Verona from April 6 to 9, 2025, recorded record-breaking numbers, confirming its status as a key event for the wine industry.

Participation and International Reach

The event welcomed over 97,000 visitors from more than 130 countries, with a significant presence of international professionals: around 33% of attendees were foreign buyers, totaling over 32,000. Notably, there was a 7% increase compared to the previous edition, with strong growth in buyers from the United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom.

Emerging Trends and Innovation

Vinitaly 2025 highlighted new market trends such as wine tourism, No/Low alcohol wines, Raw Wines, and the use of amphorae in winemaking. It also marked the launch of Vinitaly Tourism, a new format focused on wine tourism, and introduced several emerging themes that will enrich future editions of the fair.

US Tariffs: Challenges and Opportunities

Despite initial concerns over the introduction of U.S. tariffs on European wine, with a 20% increase announced by the Trump administration, the Italian wine industry showed resilience. Many producers saw this challenge as an opportunity to diversify markets and strengthen their presence in other countries.

Producers’ Statements

Italian producers expressed optimism about the future of the sector. For example, Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere, emphasized that Vinitaly 2025 showcased the unity and responsiveness of the Italian wine world, even in the face of challenges such as U.S. tariffs. He also highlighted Vinitaly’s role as a strategic platform for the future of Italian wine and a valuable space for dialogue among over 4,000 companies in the sector.

Sustainability and Innovation

A recurring theme throughout the event was the commitment to sustainability and innovation. The growing interest in dealcoholized wines, with production expected to increase by 60% in 2025 compared to the previous year, reflects the sector’s ability to adapt to new consumer demands.

Vinitaly 2025 proved to be a successful edition, demonstrating the vitality and dynamism of the Italian wine industry. Despite the challenges, producers displayed determination and adaptability, looking to the future with confidence and optimism.
