MONTICELLO D'ALBA - An ancient gesture that looks to the future. In Monticello d’Alba, among the rolling hills of the Roero, the Rabino family has planted a new vineyard of Arneis — a native white grape that has deep roots in the Piedmont tradition.
Andrea Rabino, who leads the family estate, shared his thoughts on the occasion:
“Planting a new vineyard is always a challenge, but above all, it’s an act of trust. It’s our way of saying we still — and always will — believe in this land.”
Alongside him, his daughters Chiara, Francesca and Agnese see this moment as a new chapter in their family story. Each brings a different perspective — intellect, technique, instinct — yet they are united by a deep, shared passion.
“We like to think that every vine planted today will become a bottle tomorrow,” says Chiara. “But first, it’s a project that will grow alongside us.”
Francesca, the estate’s oenologist, adds:
"Arneis is a grape that expresses the land with sincerity. We want it to speak through our style"
And Agnese, with her light-hearted spirit, smiles:
“We’ve already imagined the first toast… it’ll be a special day.”
The new vineyard marks another step in a journey that has seen the Rabino sisters emerge as champions of a winemaking philosophy rooted in tradition, vision, sustainability, and storytelling. While the vines are just taking root, in Monticello d’Alba the air is already full of promise.
